Don’t forget

July 14, 2017

I recently met a young man with lots of problems in his life. I listened and listened.

As I started to leave I gave him an assignment – teachers don’t really take the summer off. I wanted to give him something to take his mind off of his problems and to remember who God is.

The assignment was to read Psalms 103-104 and list the attributes and actions of God.

Here’s the answer key:

  1. He forgives all your sin
  2. He heals all your diseases
  3. He redeems your life from the pit
  4. He crowns you with steadfast love and mercy
  5. He satisfies you with good
  6. He works righteousness and justice for the oppressed.
  7. He reveals His plans to His children.
  8. He is merciful.
  9. He is gracious.
  10. He is slow to anger.
  11. He abounds in steadfast love.
  12. He will not always chide – or nag us about our sins.
  13. He will not always be angry.
  14. He does not deal with us according to our sins.
  15. His love is as high as the heavens are above the earth.
  16. He removes our sins from us as far as the east is from the west.
  17. He shows compassion to His children.
  18. He knows how weak we are.
  19. His love is eternal.
  20. His righteousness is eternal.
  21. He rules over everything.
  22. He is clothed with splendor and majesty
  23. He covers Himself with light.
  24. He stretches out the heavens like a tent.
  25. He controls all natural events.
  26. He created the earth.
  27. He separated the dry land from the oceans.
  28. He brings water out of the mountains.
  29. He gives drink to all the animals.
  30. He makes the grass and grain to grow to bring joy to mankind.
  31. He controls the sun, moon, stars, and seasons.
  32. He controls darkness and light.
  33. He provides for all the creatures on earth.

And that’s just from two Psalms.
